Accounts (Log-Ins, Usernames, Accs) are internet-based entities owned by or assigned to a specific user, but are stored by Chatango's server. In order to access most of the features on the website, including Personal Messaging, an account is required. Users typically use them to chat, but many also use them for role-playing, bartering, flipping or collecting.

How To make an Account

From a Chat Group

  1. Find a chat. If you don't know how, see here.
  2. On the bottom right hand corner of the chat, click the icon that reads "Set Your Name".
  3. Enter all the appropriate information.
  • Note: You can not create a username that is already taken.
    A valid email is not required, but is needed if you forget your password.

From the Website

  1. Go to
  2. Hit the Sign Up icon at the top right corner
  3. Same as #3 Above.

Customizing an Account

As a popular form of expressing creativity, users on Chatango often customize their accounts for various reasons. The most basic form of this is adding your age, location, gender and a small description about yourself in the corresponding fields, but more advanced techniques involve use of HTML and other programming languages.

From a Chat Group

To access your Profile page, either click the small text bubble on the top right hand corner of the chat, or when one of your posts are visible, click the picture located next to your name.

  1. Go to
  2. Hit the yellow Log in button on the top right hand corner of the page. This should bring you to your profile/PM page.
